Week of June 15, 2009

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) awarded a $14.7 million grant to build a replacement nursing home care and domiciliary facility at the state Veterans home in Lisbon, ND. The North Dakota Veterans Home provides two levels of care to the state’s veterans and spouses. The new facility will have 52 beds in the skilled-care nursing home and 69 beds in the basic care, independent-living residence. The home is open to honorably discharged veterans who are state residents, and to their spouses, widows and widowers. More details about the facility are available online or by calling 701-683-6500.
